I've been on this work-out kick for a while (well, since I got home and decided to do something productive with my time), and I'm excited to report that I'm feeling like it's finally paying off. Please, allow me to toot my own horn here, but below are some before and after pictures from when I first got home in September and after about a month of working out (taken in early October).
September October
What a difference a month makes, right?
Simply making better choices about what to eat and making an effort to get to the gym once a day makes a huge difference! Now, for the last few weeks, I've been slacking on my gym "goings" and I've started to feel a little... Shall we say pudgy? So, yesterday, I went back to the gym (after taking almost a week off, shame on me!) and I worked out really hard! Even by taking one week off, I began to feel the effects of letting myself get lazy - I started feeling lethargic and I allowed myself to start overindulging on unhealthy food. Needless to say, I will not be letting that happen again. Part of reaching my goal is to create and maintain a fitness routine that works for me and my schedule. What I've learned is that it does not have to be a boring, time-consuming, inconvenient thing! If I'm able to set aside one hour a day for my personal benefit, then I sure as heck can maintain it. I mean, who doesn't want abs of steel?
Today Rips from the weights
The key to creating a beautiful body is to have the motivation to create it, and to enjoy the journey! Although I've hated the pain and the sweat and the challenges, I've been made stronger by it all. Thanks to awesome people like Mikey (my amazing "trainer") I've learned that my mind is the only thing that holds me back from the body and mindset that I've always dreamed of having.
