THANKSGIVING!
It's finally upon us!
Within a week, we will all be dining on turkey, feasting on stuffing, and gorging ourselves with pies made of apples, chocolate, and pumpkin... The cooking, the football, the Macy's parade, the food, the company! Ah, these thoughts makes my mouth water and my heart happy!
This year, what are you thankful for?
I've found that there is so much to be thankful for - every year, I try to make a mental list of all the things that I take for granted and then make a special effort to give thanks for them on Thanksgiving. So, here's my list this year:
-I am thankful for my family, who have taught me how to love unconditionally.
-I am thankful for my friends, who have supported me through everything.
-I am thankful for my husband, who fights so others don't have to.
-I am thankful that I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in.
-I am thankful for my strength (physical and personal).
-I am thankful for the education I've been given.
-I am thankful for the work I do at the battered women's shelter and opportunities there.
-I am thankful for my health and wellness.
-I am thankful that I've learned the meaning of the word "dedication".
-I am thankful for all things sparkly and "good smelling" (like the perfume section in Macy's).
-I am thankful for our beautiful country, no matter how messed up we are politically.
-I am thankful for the good in people and the humanity of society.
There are so many things to be thakful for this year. With all the bad in the world, it's sometimes hard to find the good... But, if we hang on to the small, precious moments, then we will be reminded that we live a beautiful life. We are blessed beyond measure, and often, more than we should be, so don't forget to give thanks on this wonderful holiday!
