THE WEDDING VIDEO.

(Sorry for the bad quality! I had to record it on Skype because I had no other way of recording it!)

As I sit here and watch our wedding video for, what seems like, the millionth time, I am reminded of something:
I am reminded of how loved Derek and I are - both individually and as a couple.
We are so, so, so loved.
We are loved by our parents, by our family, by our friends, and by each other. We are loved in many ways and by many people; on our wedding day we were surrounded by people who travelled far and wide to see us join together as man and wife.
I am overwhelmed with this love. I see it in the faces of people in the video, in the eyes of my best friends, in the smiles of my family members. I hear it in the swell of music, in the laughter shared by the people who were there on that special day, and I hear it in the words that Derek speaks to me. I feel it when I cry out of pure joy, I feel it when I have my husbands arms around me, and I feel it when I see people shedding tears of happiness.
On our wedding day, we shared with each other the promise of a new life together - a promise that remains to this day, and will remain, forever. This is the promise of love. This is the promise that we made to each other, for each other, in front of those that we love the most.
I am loved. He is loved. We are loved.
Together, we share a love that spans the world and crosses oceans. This love has been forged from the rock of time and dedication… It hasn't always been easy, or fair, or fun, but it has always been worth it. We have made this life ours and ours alone, and that is beautiful.
“Recognizing that marriage is not the end of two people in the formation of only one, but rather two unique individuals, who, while they become one with another, they are also one from another.”
Remember that day, my love. Remember the happiness. Remember the joy. Remember the moment that we promised each other forever. Remember how your heart beat with mine when we took our vows. Remember…
While we may be separate, my darling, please know that you are loved. Every day, from thousands of miles away, I send you all of my love, all of my warmth, and all of my heart. I send it to you in the hopes that you may feel it and remember what you have to come home to.
That day, we were surrounded by people who were willing to witness our union in love. It was an incredible, beautiful, wonderful day, and I am so lucky I got to share it with you.
I love you.
You love me.
They love us.
And that's all we will need… For the rest of our lives, love is all we are ever going to need.
